FREE Permaculture Design Workbook!

ree

Every strong landscape design begins with a solid foundation. Before you start planting trees, digging ponds, or installing new systems, it’s critical to understand the legalities, hazards, and resources that shape your property. That’s why I created my Permaculture Landscape Design Workbook Series—a step-by-step approach to help students, professionals, and land stewards design regenerative and sustainable spaces.

I’m excited to share that the first workbook in the series, Foundational Design Aspects, is now available! This workbook covers essential first steps in the design process, including:

  • Assessing legalities such as permits, codes, and water rights

  • Gathering local resources to strengthen community resilience

  • Conducting hazard assessments to ensure long-term safety

  • Building a base map to serve as the backbone of your design

Why This Workbook Is Free

I chose to make this first volume free because professionalism within the permaculture field benefits us all. By helping more people understand the importance of legal compliance and hazard awareness, we create safer, more resilient, and more respected designs. Whether you are a student, a professional designer, or a landowner eager to steward your property responsibly, this workbook provides a gateway into the design process.

This book is not an all-inclusive legal guide - always seek local professional or legal advice when needed - but it does equip you with the organizational tools to get started the right way
